Stephen King’s The Shining tells the story of Jack Torrance, a man whose life has been plagued by alcoholism, violence, and personal failures. Desperate for a fresh start and a way to support his family, Jack accepts a job as the winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel, high in the Colorado mountains. The position promises peace and quiet, allowing him to focus on writing and improving his relationship with his wife Wendy and his five-year-old son, Danny.
